Celebrities and Contact Lenses

in Lense

Believe it or not, there are many celebrities that wear contact lenses. Did you know Britney Spears actually has brown eyes? Take a look at some of her photos though and you will notice her eyes are blue. This is not due to any kind of trick photography, this is simply due to her wearing a pair of blue contact lenses.

Anthony Hopkins scared the pants off of many people in his roles as Hanibal Lecter. Hopkin's eyes however are naturally soothing light blue. You'll notice that in some of his movies though his eyes have been green or brown. Once again, this is due to the contact lenses.

While contact lenses are more known for their ability to help correct one's eyesight, colored contact lenses have the ability to change someone's looks. This has been the case for quite a few years now, but it seems contact lenses could be growing in popularity because of this face changing ability. These colored contact lenses have even been warn by some not so famous people, such as haunted house workers, to give them a different and sometimes more sinister appearance.

The presence of these lenses has even taken it's place in the sports world, especially in the wresting arena of the WWE. Wrestler Ray Mysterio actually uses different colored contact lenses to coordinate his look with whatever he is wearing. If his mask is blue, his eyes will likely be too. If he is wearing green, that will likely be the color of his eyes for that match.

One of the most well known of this contact lens phenomena is heiress, model, actress, and part time recording artist Paris Hilton. Those blue eyes you see her with on most talk shows are not natural. Her natural color is brown, but she has so many pairs of these contacts, can we really know for sure? Possibly the most interesting thing about Hilton's lenses, however, is that the opaque blue pair that seem to be her favorite are supposedly no longer available, making her lenses not only feature changing but rare as well.

Celebrities have been known to set trends in fashion for many years now, and the colored contact lens may be another area that will spark some interest in some non-celebrity kind of people to take part in this area of fashion. If that is the case, it may not be too long before you notice someone walking down the street with gold eyes! The movie Twilight has become somewhat of a cult hit to many who are in awe of it's story and it's characters, led mostly by the teenage crowd. In the movie Rob Pattinson sports gold contacts in his vampire playing role, so don't be surprised if you see someone soon sporting these gold colored lenses.

It has become apparent that your natural eye color doesn't have to be the one you show out in public or in a movie. Next time you see a celebrity and can't figure out what it is that looks different about them, look into their eyes. The lenses could be your answer.
